Ticketing for shows that move.

Most ticketing platforms are built around a venue that stays put. Strawhouse Tix handles the other case: a new city, a new venue and a new seat map every few days, with the same box office behind it.

Fixed venues and touring shows

Why touring shows need different ticketing

Most ticketing platforms are designed around a single venue: one seat map, one tax rate, one box office, configured once. That works well for a venue that stays put. On the road, each of those assumptions has to be redone in every city. The differences below are where the time goes.

Built for one fixed venue

  • A seat map drawn once, by hand, for one room
  • Every new date configured from scratch
  • One tax rate, one time zone, one currency
  • Money lands with the platform, then trickles back after the show
  • No idea another promoter booked forty miles away next Tuesday
  • Cancellations mean refunding everyone and starting again

Built for a show on the road

  • Venue templates: draw the tent once, drop it on every city
  • Clone a whole engagement — dates, sections, holds, on-sale windows
  • Per-venue tax, time zone and currency resolved automatically
  • You are the merchant of record; takings never touch us
  • Collision detection warns you about nearby dates before you commit
  • Move every ticket holder to another performance in one operation

Tour operations

Tour operations — templates, cloning and date conflicts

A venue template holds capacity, sections, pricing and holdbacks, and instantiates onto any date in any town in one click. The seat map is built once for the tent or house and reused for the whole route.

  • Venue templatesone layout per tent or house, reused across the whole route.
  • Engagement cloningduplicate a city complete with performances, section overrides, holdbacks and on-sale windows.
  • Collision detectionbefore you commit a date, we scan every other promoter's committed bookings near that venue and show you what we find. Fifty miles and one month by default, tunable per deployment.
  • Move customersweather cancels a show; reseat every holder onto another performance in one operation, notifications included.
  • Capacity overridesthe fire marshal cuts your house; reduce it after on-sale and trigger reaccommodation.
  • Tour tagging and exportgroup a route for reporting, publish it as JSON or iCal.

Seating & capacity

Seating and capacity — reserved, general admission or both

Zones are drawn on a canvas with rectangle, ellipse, polygon and wedge tools, each rotatable, so a big top in the round and a multi-level auditorium are both drawn accurately. Buyers pick from the map; the capacity engine underneath is the same in either mode.

  • Visual venue builderdraw zones over an uploaded floor plan, or from nothing.
  • Multi-level housesorchestra, balcony and boxes with per-level plans.
  • Seats generated from parametersrows and seats per row, plus curve, spacing and removed seats, so the chart matches the numbering already painted on the venue's seats.
  • Accessible seatingwheelchair zones and seats as first-class objects.
  • Zone tiersprice an audience once per tier; every city inherits it.
  • Audience pricing inside a zoneadult, child, senior and student share the zone's capacity at different prices, so overselling is impossible by construction.

Box office & the door

Box office and the door — walk-up sales, scanning and entry

The walk-up window, the gate and the head count all run on the same records as online sales. Scanning works on a field with no signal, and the check-in dashboard shows how many people are inside as the queue moves.

  • Box-office windowhouse view with drag-select block purchasing for the family that wants six together.
  • Cash, card and comp tenderwith operator fee waiver and window refunds.
  • Second-screen customer displaythe buyer sees what the operator is ringing up.
  • Continuous camera scanningpoint and keep scanning, no tap between tickets.
  • Bluetooth wedge capturepair a hardware scanner when the phone camera isn't fast enough.
  • Will-call collectionlook an order up by the eight-character reference from the buyer's email or by name, hand over the seats and record who collected them.
  • Live check-in dashboardadmitted, denied and remaining, updating as the queue moves.
  • Anti-passbacka ticket scanned twice returns the time and gate of the first scan.

Payments

You are the merchant of record — takings go straight to your own account

Most platforms collect your takings and pay out days after the show has moved on. Strawhouse Tix connects your own Stripe account instead. There is no payout schedule because there is no payout — card settles directly to you at Stripe's normal speed, and the funds never enter an account we control.

  • Per-promoter Stripe credentialsencrypted, entered in your own workspace.
  • Refunds in both directionsfrom the admin or straight from your Stripe dashboard.
  • Multi-currency and per-venue taxresolved by place of supply as the tour crosses lines.
  • Transparent consumer feesshown at checkout, configured per ticket type.

Ticket integrity

Ticket integrity — counterfeit and resale controls

Controls are built into the ticket itself rather than added at the gate. A sold-out date in a small market is a common resale target, and a forged ticket presented at the door becomes the promoter's problem to resolve on the night.

  • Purchaser-bound watermarkingevery ticket carries the buyer's identity on its face.
  • Cryptographically signed serialstamper-evident, verified at the gate, not a sequential number anyone can guess.
  • Delayed deliveryrelease tickets a set number of hours before curtain, per client.
  • Transfer policyblock transfers, allow them with an audit trail, or re-watermark to the new holder.
  • Dead tickets stay deada voided ticket, or one replaced by a transfer, is refused at the gate regardless of what is printed on it.
  • Gate validation APIatomic admit or deny, so the same seat can never walk in twice.

Marketing & automations

Marketing and automations — promotions, attribution and follow-up

A touring date has a short selling window in a market with no existing audience. The promotion, attribution and follow-up tooling is built around that constraint rather than around a subscriber base you already own.

  • Deterministic discount enginepercent off, fixed off, free child and buy-X-get-Y, automatic or code-gated, with stacking rules and redemption caps that actually hold.
  • Bulk codes and buyout linkssponsor batches, school groups, private inventory behind a single URL.
  • Automated flowsAI drafts the sequence against a fixed schema, you simulate it against real conditions, and a deterministic runner executes what you approved.
  • Cart recoverycapture the email at first touch and win back the abandon.
  • Attribution that reconcilesGA4, Google Ads, GTM and server-side Meta CAPI with browser-pixel deduplication.
  • AI event landing pagesper-city pages generated, reviewed and published, with structured data for rich results.

Reporting & the client portal

Reporting and the client portal — settlement, attribution and self-service

Reporting reads the same database that sold the tickets, so settlement figures cannot drift from sales figures. Results are available per performance, per engagement or across a whole tour without exporting anything.

  • Live sales dashboardopen carts, sales pace and on-sale burst monitoring while it happens.
  • Financial P&Lgross, fees, tax, refunds and net by performance, engagement or whole tour.
  • Source attributionUTM and channel breakdown with a timeline, so ad spend is answerable.
  • Agency tour mapevery venue on the route plotted and sized by gross, scrubbable across the calendar.
  • Client portalpromoters sign in to their own surface for events, pricing, on-sale, orders, refunds, exchanges and scanners.
  • Exports and BI accessCSV from any report, read-only credentials for your own tools.

Pricing

You never pick a tier. We bill you the cheapest one.

Four tiers, and every month you're charged on whichever costs you least for the volume you actually sold. Sell out in July and the volume rate applies in July. Go dark in December and you pay ninety-nine dollars. No plan to choose, no upgrade call.

Why there's nothing to choose

Each tier takes over from the one below at about 667, 2,250 and 6,250 tickets a month. Your cost curve bends at those points but never jumps — so one extra ticket can never move your bill, and changing tier needs no conversation.

A real touring season: 33,700 tickets, $0.84 a ticket.

What's included at every tier

  • Every module on this page — nothing gated behind an upgrade
  • No setup fee, no contract term, no monthly minimum to hit
  • Comps and refunded tickets are never billed
  • A dark month costs $99 and everything stays live
  • Walk-up sales billed the same as online
  • Unlimited events, users and scanners
